Rich's Recipe: Miracle Whip Cake

As weird as this recipe sounds, it is by far one of the most moist and delicious cakes you will ever make. It outshines a box cake mix any day. This cake can be used for a German chocolate cake base or for any other chocolate cake creation. I encourage you to make a homemade buttercream icing for this, it will take it to a whole new level. This cake reminds me of my childhood and my grandfather. He did not eat sweets at all but would devour this cake every time my mother made it.

2 Cups of Flour

2 Tsp. of Baking Powder

½ Tsp. of Salt

½ Cup of Cocoa

1 ¼ Cups of Sugar

1 Cup of Miracle Whip

1 Tsp. of Vanilla Extract

1 Cup of Boiling Water

 

Preheat oven to 375 F. Thoroughly mix the Cocoa into the boiling water. Mix in the rest of the dry ingredients first, then add the Miracle Whip, followed by the rest of the wet ingredients. Lower to 350 F and put the cake in. Bake until a tooth pick comes out clean.
